Your Business RolesYour Business Roles
You started your business, it has been growing and where are you now? You may find now you are very busy fulfilling all the roles in the company. In fact you might have no free time. You are working all the hours that God gives and it still doesn’t seem to be enough. Maybe business has plateaued and even beginning to slip backwards. Maybe you want to step up a gear but can’t find the time or the resources to make the gear shift. You know you are working in your business with no time at all to be able to step back and make decisions for the next stage of business development – to be able to work on the business.

Some questions to ask yourself for the future:

  1. What do you really really want to do going forward?
  2. How do you know this is the most useful thing to do?
  3. What do you need, to start doing that?
  4. How can you do it?
  5. What is important about doing it?
  6. What are the consequences both positive and negative of starting to do this?
  7. What is your reaction/response to these consequences?
  8. What else do you need to do or consider?
Sometimes when you start asking yourself these questions you can find yourself going around in circles because this may be how you have succeeded in keeping yourself at your current level. To break free it can be useful to look at your business from a different perspective and then from this different perspective again ask yourself the 8 questions. For example you could stand in your competitor's shoes, your customer's or a wise advisor. Of course you will need to make slight adjustments in the questions to get the most benefit. Have a bit of fun playing around with it and see what solutions emerge for you.

Do let me know, I'd love to hear. If you find the questions useful be sure and share the post.
